A bottomless pit of caffeine, sleepless nights and a perpetual spiral of ideas. The
process of writing a script can be heart wrenching and painful but extremely fulfilling
when the written word is converted into moving images on the screen. This
competition strives to acknowledge and award those that are at the root of conceiving
a phenomenal film. Scripts will be evaluated on the traditional merits of story creation;
substance, structure and form. The sub-categories open to submissions in the
If your script does not fit into a genre specific category please submit it to the Best
Feature Film or Best Short Film categories as they are open-ended and suitable for all
film content. MIFFEST prefers scripts that are registered with the WGC/WGA. A quick
registration only takes a few minutes but protects your content in the long run. Scripts
should be submitted in their entirety in a PDF file through withoutabox. The script
should be submitted in its entire and final form, no changes shall be permitted once
the submission is complete. The winning scripts will be developed, produced by White
Night Studios and directed by the winners of the director's competition. The film will
be shot on a RedCam at mutually agreed upon dates by the directors and producers.
